"The Maquis" soldiers who, once the war ended, continued to fight against the Franco regime. They had several really important camps in the Sierra Almijara, in which 200 people were hiding. One of the largest camps was located on "El Cisne" from which, due to difficult access and high altitude, they could control any movement. "El Cisne" was, without a doubt one of the most important camps of the Sierras sorounding Competa.
On our route, we will visit this historical place "El Cisne" (1484 m) which offers many traces of the risky lifestyle of these people during the war
